Breakthroughs In The Treatment Of Cancer With Cell Line Vaccines

Immunotherapy vaccines work to stimulate the body's own immune system. They help the body recognize and destroy targeted cancers and may help to shrink advanced tumors.

Dr. Wiseman’s development of a genetically-altered cell line vaccine has shown significant promise in pilot studies. He has developed cancer vaccines for patients whose cancer is resistant to other methods. Previous work with monoclonal antibodies seems to have benefited some patients with brain tumors.

His recent work on Objective Clinical Regression of Metastatic Breast Cancer in Disparate Sites after Use of Whole-Cell Vaccine Genetically Modified to Release Sargramostim is published in The Breast Journal, September, 2006.
